Dr Brendan O’Dea

BSc, MBBS (Hons), M (physio), DRANZCOG, FRACGP

Dr Brendan O’Dea is the owner of Bunbury Family Doctors and has worked as a GP in Bunbury since 2016.

Prior to Medicine, Dr O'Dea was a physiotherapist and worked in both the public and private practice for 10 years including at St John of God Hospital Bunbury. It was here that Dr O’Dea decided his role in helping patients was too limited and that he wanted to go back to University and study Medicine and become a GP.

Dr O'Dea graduated from the University of Western Australia in 2013 with Honours and received the graduating class awards for Emergency Medicine and Anaesthetics. Following medical school, and some experience in the large tertiary hospitals, Dr O’Dea and his family relocated back to Bunbury to begin life as a GP.

In 2018, Dr O’Dea obtained his Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of GPs. Dr O’Dea is the current Chair of the Medical Advisory Committee at St John of God Hospital and also assists in theatre doing Orthopaedics every 4 weeks.

Outside of work, Brendan enjoys playing golf, cheering for St Kilda and spending time with family and friends.
