Melissa Neilsen

Melissa Neilsen is the Practice Registered Nurse.

Originally from Queensland, Mel made the move to this piece of paradise about 12 years ago.  Mel has been nursing for over 30 years in diverse fields such as Coronary Intensive Care, Emergency Departments and Operating Theatres in cities and regional centres in Qld and WA, and has also worked as a Clinical Nurse Educator and Quality and Patient Safety Clinical Nurse.  She has also had the opportunity to experience living and working in the Middle East, which she thoroughly enjoyed.

Mel has a particular interest in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety, and is a strong patient advocate.  She made the move from hospital-based nursing to the Primary Care setting and is enjoying the patient-nurse interactions that GP nursing provides, as well as the amazing learning opportunities.
